The city of McKinney TX is located 30 miles on the north of Dallas. Despite from it’s being one of the fastest-growing cities in America with more than 155,000 population, unlike most cities within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex area, McKinney has a more “small town” feel with a lot of green spaces.
This city stands on a land that was donated by William Davis in 1849. He donated 120 acres from 3,000 acres of land he had for the townsite. The town was incorporated a decade later.
McKinney has already become an important city in the county since the beginning of its history. It served as the commercial center that provided farmers with a cotton compress and cottonseed oil mill, cotton gins, cotton mills, corn, and flour. This city also had schools, banks, newspapers, churches, and even an opera house. Business was growing fast in this city, later that time a dairy company, a garment manufacturing company, an ice company and a textile mill also started to do business there.
In 1848 the population was only 35 people, but the rapid growth increased the population to 4,714 in 1912, and by 1953 there were already 355 businesses in the city of McKinney TX with a population of 10,000.

Sports Recreation – There are a lot of charity events and annual tournaments at Oak Hollow Golf Course, but this is also a great place for a leisure game. McKinney also has a world class Tennis Center at Gabe Nesbitt Community Park.
Performing Arts Center – McKinney Performing Arts Center is located in the historic district. The theater provides 427 seats for live entertainment including music concerts and theater.
